Along the Coast

Breathe deeply. Let the warm breeze carry along its messages from the ocean; watch as it plays with the tall grass on the dunes and carries the seagulls high in the sky. The clouds have taken to other places in the world on this day and have left the coast to bask in all of its glory.

I let the sun soak into my cheeks. It's been far too long since I could close my eyes and hear the rustling of the waves while the sun warmed my spirits too.

I could not have asked for a better day with my grandparents and Uncle Mike at the Oregon Coast. It was unusually pleasant outside and we lingered on the beach. There was no rush, and nowhere else to be but there. We collected driftwood and ate at a local sandwich shop (with gluten-free homemade bread!) and strolled along the shore.

Thank you, Grandma and Bapa - today was nourishing for the soul. I needed this. If I could have bottled up this afternoon and saved it forever, I would have. I would relive it again and again.

Ah, what a glorious Lord who creates such beautiful places! This just makes me long to be united with Him and His glory all the more! One day I will never have to leave the beauty of His presence.
